My experience
I have been teaching on and off for the last 20 years,
family, friends,
work colleagues and others I was
recommended to. Also in my working life and other
“hobbies” have spent a lot of time helping others to
improve. I try to apply all the
lessons learnt to my
pupils learning experience so that they can achieve
their goals.
Lesson planning tailored for you.
Every body is different! You may want to go on to
be
a professional guitarist, go to one of the great Guitar
Universities or just play
for fun and learn a few Beatle
numbers. Your goals and requirements will be discussed
at the first lesson and I will tailor your learning to your requirements.
Learning speed
We all learn at differing rates – guitarists especially. I believe
that there is nothing you cannot play it’s just that you have not learnt it yet.
All the notes are there right in front of you it’s just putting them in the right
order.
There will be things that you cannot play because your manual dexterity is
not up to it but you can change this with practise. The first time you try to play
an ”F” chord with a full barre will be hard and hurt your fingers – but you can master
it.
Playing confidence.
In my experience most guitarists do not believe in their playing
ability and are more often than not better than they think, I will do what I can
to improve your confidence in this area – playing things in front of me is
a good
start. Having played at nearly 1000 gigs over the years I know how it feels on the
confidence front !!!
Who will I teach?
Anyone with the desire to learn or improve their guitar playing.
Complete
beginners, born again guitarists, intermediate guitarists busy going
nowhere or any budding rock stars.
Lessons can be tailored for all ages from 8 to
80, male of female
